"Goulden Hardwoods Frequently asked questions"What thickness can you supply?Basically as thick as you want; if we've got it you can have it. We are aware that most companies charge more for thicker pieces, but to keep it simple we sell from £23 a cube no matter what thickness. How much is delivery?Roughly 40% of total cost is courier or Post Office charges. These have gone up enormously in few years. Originally I subsidised the costs but since charging what it costs us we have had more visitors which suits us better and is of course better value as you are only paying for the wood. How does one arrange to buy wood and are you open at weekends? If you want to visit e mail me and I'll arrange to meet you at a mutually convenient time. I'm rather part time as I have a job that pays real money ! But if week days are inconvenient I'll arrange a weekend .Is the wood kiln or air dried? All our timber is air dried in open sheds. Is the timber straight edged? At least one edge is straight, usually both, depending on how we plank it. You can specify what you want. What length of plank can I have?We usually cut our logs in six or five foot lengths. This is primarily owing to the fact that lengths of more than six feet are awkward to get into the back of the average car. You can have longer planks if you so desire.See our page of interesting things produced by our customers from our wood. Copyright Goulden Management Limited 2005 |
